Samsung YP-T8 1GB Multimedia Player

The Samsung YP-T8 is a small and sleek multimedia player. The player has the looks of a mobile phone and it has a 1.8 inch LCD screen capable of displaying 262.000 colors.

The player handles all audio format plus video MPEG4 files. One small catch is that before you can add video to the YP-T8 you have to convert them to the SVI-format, in order for the player to read them.

Watching a movie sound like fun but it is hardly a serious option because of the small screen size and the “fuzziness” of the picture. Because of the very narrow viewing angle watching a movie together will become a very intimate business. A marketing point of view the makers might want to consider.

The player has no speaker and the headphone is the only audio source. The sound of those earplugs is what it is. Okay. Not super and it doesn’t do just to the capabilities of the player.

A big plus is the battery that is sufficient for 20 hours of multimedia fun. The battery can be charged with an adapter or via the USB port of your computer.

A nice feature is the possibility to use it as a digital camera, an mp3 player or a memory stick.

De possibility to play some games is a nice extra as well. All together the Samsung YP-T8 has a lot of possibilities. But considering its limited storage capacity we think it’s a little overpriced.
